Infosys Infuses $3 Million in Whoop

Infosys, an Indian multinational IT and software engineering service provider has announced a $3 million funding in the Boston based Whoop which is into data recording and analysis of professional athletes and sporting teams.

However, both the parties have not specified how this amount is going to be utilized in the operations. Previously, Whoop was successful in raising $12 million investment a couple of months ago.

The core products of the company are being tested across various sporting leagues in the United States. The performance is analyzed using a wrist based wearable device that keeps a track of strain and recovery, performance and other vital stats that can be very useful in assessment of players or teams.

It makes sense for Infosys to venture into this association as it crunches data for a gigantic range of international clients across various verticals.

Infosys is investing heavily across various verticals with some of its recent acquisitions include e-commerce service provider Kallidus, disaster recovery company CloudEndure and Saas firm Panaya.
