Clip the Mexican Mobile Payment Service Raises $8M

Mobile payments provider Clip has raised $8 million in a recent funding round led by local firm Alta Ventures and including new backers American Express and Sierra Ventures.

As per company announcements, the recently generated fund, which was also backed by Angel Ventures Mexico, Mexico Ventures and Endeavor Catalyst, will be used to further domestic expansion.


The Mexican based Clips offers general consumers and small businesses to accept payments via a card reader attached to an Android or iOS device. It works exactly like Square does for the US market.

Clip is most suitable for small businesses selling in store as well as the delivery services. It accepts all major credit cards and debit cards and requires a n android smartphone or tablet only to run operations using a WiFi, 4G or LTE connection!
